Albums

The discography of the American rock band Toto includes 13 studio albums, four live albums, and numerous compilations. In addition to releasing original music, Toto has also done collaborations with other artists and on soundtracks for films. The band has won multiple Grammy Awards for their work.

Before Toto was formed the members of the group played sessions for other musicians. David Paich, the son of session drummer Marty Paich, and Jeff Porcaro (the brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro and drummer Jeff Porcaro) all performed on Boz Scaggsalbum from 1975 Silk Degrees. The collaboration led to the formation of Toto in the year 1976.

Turn Back, Toto's third studio album, was criticized by critics due to not having hit singles. In 1985, lead singer Fergie Frederiksen left the group The band held auditions for the new frontman. Guitarist Steve Lukather was chosen, and the band recorded the album Fahrenheit in 1986.

Toto released Toto XX in 1998 to mark its 20th anniversary. The band dug through old tapes and recordings to create the album. The album was well-received by fans, and Toto embarked on the tour with former members Bobby Kimball Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.

During the tour for the album 40 Trips Around the Sun The drummer Leland Sklar left the group and was replaced by Shem von Schroeck. In 2017, Toto released a double-CD live set titled Falling in Between, which included recordings from the tour and an interview with Toto.

The most watched video by the group is "Africa" which has more than one billion views on YouTube. The video takes place in a library and features the band performing in front of a book about Africa.

In 1998, Toto started working on a project entitled Old Is New. The album featured three brand new tracks as well as a number of completed recordings of songs from the past. The album was a huge success across the globe and the band embarked on a tour around the world to promote it.
